I think that most people, (I certainly hope most people), realize that the financial crisis isn't rooted in the behavior of the majority of U.S. citizens but in the minority who have driven the economy in the recent past.

The near total failure of the economy in combination with the ruinous foreign and domestic policies of the folks who have been driving this governmental behemoth makes it pretty difficult to think anyone can fix it. Still, I choose to believe that it can be fixed. I mean, what's the alternative?

Anyway, I'd vote for a pair of shoes before I'd vote to keep executive branch in the hands of the party which currently holds office.

{shrug}

I hope that you find your way out of your outrage deficit more expediently than I expect our government to get out of it's monetary one. :)

Why Rach, how ungrateful of you! Don't you know that in the 21st century we should be grateful for the mere fact alone that any woman has been chosen as VP candidate! *8) Did you accept my invitation on Facebook for the group Intelligent Women Against Sarah Palin? Am extraordinarily proud that a lot of my 19 year old students and even one of my male friends has joined.

I figure Oz is making progress. Our deputy PM is Julia Gillard and the deputy of the oppostion is Julie Bishop. The progress? When both were announced most Australians blinked, said ok and got on with their lives.

I'd read some of your other posts referencing the death of your mother. I wasn't aware until the post prior to this one that it was so recent. My condolences. A lot of people want to say something poignant or meaningful about these sorts of things, I find. In the end, I think they're just trying to make themselves feel better rather than improve the mood or state of mind of the person trying to come to terms with the loss. So, I say 'My condolences'. Which, in my mind, means...I'm sorry you're hurtin'. {shrug}
